The Gift of Life

On the very first day, God created the cow. He said to the cow, "Today I have created you! As a cow, you must go to the field with the farmer all day long. You will work all day under the sun! I will give you a life span of 50 years."
The cow objected, "What? This kind of a tough life you want me to live for 50 years? Let me have 20 years, and the 30 years I'll give back to you." So God agreed.
On the second day, God created the dog. God said to the dog, "You are supposed to do is to sit all day by the door of your house. Any people that come in, you will have to bark at them! I'll give a life span of 20 years."
The dog objected, "What? All day long to sit by the door? No way! I give you back my other 10 years of life!" So God agreed.
On the third day, God created the monkey. He said to the monkey, "Monkeys have to entertain people. You've got to make them laugh and do monkey tricks. I'll give you 20 years life span."
The monkey objected. "What? Make them laugh? Do monkey faces and tricks? Ten years will do, and the other 10 years I'll give you back." So God agreed.
On the fourth day, God created man and said to him, "Your job is to sleep, eat, and play. You will enjoy very much in your life. All you need to do is to enjoy and do nothing. This kind of life, I'll give you a 20 year life span."
The man objected. "What? Such a good life! Eat, play, sleep, do nothing? Enjoy the best and you expect me to live only for 20 years? No way, man!....Why don't we make a deal? Since the cow gave you back 30 years, and the dog gave you back 10 years and the monkey gave you back 10 years, I will take them from you! That makes my life span 70 years, right?" So God agreed.
AND THAT'S WHY.... In our first 20 years, we eat, sleep, play, enjoy the best and do nothing much. For the next 30 years, we work all day long, suffer and get to support the family. For the next 10 years, we entertain our grandchildren by making monkey faces and monkey tricks. And for the last 10 years, we stay at home, sit by the front door and bark at people

"The More Loving One":

Looking up at the stars, I know quite well
That, for all they care, I can go to hell,
But on earth indifference is the least
We have to dread from man or beast.

How should we like it were stars to burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.

Admirer as I think I am
Of stars that do not give a damn,
I cannot, now I see them, say
I missed one terribly all day.

Were all stars to disappear or die,
I should learn to look at an empty sky
And feel its total dark sublime,
Though this might take me a little time.

Ask for guidance

Ask for guidance – A big part of your spiritual retreat is to be quiet and still so that you can ask for guidance from your essential spirit. Your essential spirit is your storehouse of infinite wisdom. This is the time to evaluate where you are in your life and where you want to go. Look at each of the major life areas (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, social, financial, work, etc) and ask yourself if your actions are in line and in accordance with your soul purpose. If you are not yet sure of your soul purpose, ask for clarification about this. It is time to look inside for your guidance and answers. After all, everything you need to succeed is inside of you.

Ways to get away from stress and relax

  1. Take the time to something you like to do, whether it's jogging or knitting or reading a special book.
  2. A long soak in a hot bath is probably the favorite, but take it a little further now. Make an extra strong cup of herbal tea and pour it into your bath water. Try chamomile, peppermint or licorice. It's a very frugal way to relax and it smells heavenly, too.
  3. After your bath and while you're still wet, smooth olive oil on your skin (it only takes a teaspoon or two for your entire body), then use a rough towel to scrub dry all over. Olive oil is a frugal way to combat dry skin, too, so use it often. A small bottle will last months.
  4. After your bath and while you're still wet, smooth olive oil on your skin (it only takes a teaspoon or two for your entire body), then use a rough towel to scrub dry all over. Olive oil is a frugal way to combat dry skin, too, so use it often. A small bottle will last months.
  5. What we drink can relax us or give us energy, so think before partaking. Coffee, tea, cocoa and many soft drinks contain caffeine which can keep us from relaxing. Opt instead for herbal or fruit teas (hot lemonade, berry teas), water, milk or juice (without extra sugar). Hot drinks are generally more relaxing. BUT, go for "comfort" in your drinks. The mental comfort of a cup of hot cocoa often overcomes the physical response to the caffeine. Not just drinks, either.
  6. Put on some favorite music, but not fast music, or music that has an off beat. Our bodies respond to those rhythms so that our hearts beat to them. It's true, check yourself and you'll see. Go for something with a regular, slow and steady beat, no matter what the style. Sound is a very frugal way to relax.
  7. If you don't want music, use "white noise" - something that won't irritate or stimulate, like a fan. Rain or a recording of it, works well too.
  8. Get spiritual. Whether your bent is prayer, daydreaming or communing with trees, get into it and let your spirit calm your body.
  9. Surround yourself with calm people, or no one at all. If you're stressed, keep away from the "madding crowd" for a few hours anyway.
  10. Lie down, or at least raise your feet. Not only physical, this is a mental signal to your body to slow down and relax.

This ways can be tried to make you feel relaxed.

View ur life

Love Is The Law Of Life:
All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore, love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.
It's Your Outlook That Matters:
It is our own mental attitude, which makes the world what it is for us. Our thoughts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light.
Life is Beautiful:
First, believe in this world - that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves!

  • Quote: Each of us is born with two contradictory sets of instructions: a conservative tendency, made up of instincts for self-preservation, self-aggrandizement, and saving energy, and an expansive tendency made up of instincts for exploring, for enjoying novelty and risk--the curiosity that leads to creativity belongs to this set. However, whereas the first tendency requires little encouragement or support from outside to motivate behavior, the second can wilt if not cultivated. If too few opportunities for curiosity are available, if too many obstacles are put in the way of risk and exploration, the motivation to engage in creative behavior is easily extinguished.

Some Ways To Improve Your Life

1. Make a definite plan for success. Fix a time limit to this plan. Determine the benefits of your goal.
2. Hold on to a positive attitude. See the best in any situation. Positive thinking heals your body and vitalizes your mind. A negative outlook is self-destructive.
3. Give your employer your best service. Even if you're underpaid, you'll create a twofold bonus. First, you will increase your level of skill, and this can translate to a higher income later on. Second, you'll win sufficient goodwill to attract the favor of your boss or a competitor. The more you give, the more you receive.
4. Continue to learn more about your job. Knowledge is power, and power creates increased income.
5. Work on being calm and even-tempered. An angry or bitter person is hard to get along. Along with your positive mental attitude come positive emotions. This enhances both your relationships and your health.
6. Share your goals with others. It is easier to achieve something when you're working on it with someone else. If your goal is too individualistic to share with others, at least get some moral support, some people to cheer you on your way.
7. Put your faith in a higher power. Such faith removes many fears, like fear of poverty, criticism, ill health, loss of liberty, old age, and death.
8. Avoid bad habits, especially those offensive to other people. For example, criticizing others, gossiping, slandering. Also, avoid taking in toxic material, like alcohol and cigarettes. Why would you want to ruin your liver and lungs?
9. Plan your work and complete each day's work. Include in your plan, ways to work more efficiently. Don't leave for tomorrow what can be done today. Tomorrow will have its own demands. Progress means moving forward.
10. Enjoy your work. If you don't feel enthused, it's time for a change.

Its Better to Give than to Receive

It's better to give than to receive." You've probably heard that popular saying.
From the Bible, Acts 20.
"In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, `It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
When you give something from your heart without expecting anything in return, you release a powerful force that will trigger your good deed to "bounce" back to you in amazing, and sometimes unusual ways.
I firmly believe that whatever you impart to others will come back to you a hundred fold. You are doing yourself abig favor by helping someone in need. By doing even the smallest acts of generosity, you are inviting good vibrations to come into your life.
Speaking of happiness, the act of giving can summon the spirit of joy to come into your heart. How would you feel when you’ve given something to your less fortunate neighbors? Let me tell you that nothing could brighten up my day more than hearing them express their most heartfelt gratitude and seeing their smiles extend from ear to ear.
Giving is also a healthy habit. It could prolong your life by in stilling within you an inner sense of peace and accomplishment.
Just like all things in life, giving has its limitations. Being too generous can have its toll. Your kindness might be taken advantage of and people might abuse your good intentions. Beware of individuals who are continuously seeking your aid. It's better to teach them how to solve their problems than to always attend to their needs.

The Beauty of Life

"An unexamined life is not worth living."-- Socrates
I have just finished reading a most astounding statement from A.H. Almaas's book Space cruiser Inquiry. In this book, which discusses the concept of open inquiry as an optimal way to get in touch with your true being, he gives a beautiful description of the beauty of life. The simplicity and beauty of this sentence struck me hard! He says, "The beauty of life is that it can be a continuous opening to the full range of experience and richness possible for the human being."
This was an extremely beautiful quote and had a very true ring to it. Life CAN be lived to be a continuous opening to the full range of experience and richness possible for the human being. In life you can find out what you're capable of doing; to continually explore, and then act on the discovery of that exploration to create more experiences to learn and grow even more. You can learn to become more flexible. You can start to experiment with your range; what you are capable of doing with your life. What you choose to do can be below the range of what you can do, but that is your choice; not a limitation that you are unaware of.
The important distinction is that you become aware of your full range of possibilities and then choose which possibility you want to act on rather than being limited because you are unaware of what you can do. Life offers us this chance to continually open up and become more aware of the powers that are residing within us. Are you using the change for this kind of growing that life offers? On the other hand, have you stopped inquiring and accepted the limited position, which tells you that you can't grow further? What you believe will determine what you do about exploring your true being and capabilities. What will you believe?

Building Bridges, Not Walls!

Only twenty years ago, people would casually stroll the neighborhood, stop and chat with each other or walk down the street and greet you cordially. Nowadays people walk at a very fast pace and for the most part just walk past you looking at the ground lost in their own thoughts. It seems less people will say hello to a stranger.
Therefore, it seems to a lesser degree with family and friends. Have we in this society lost some of our ability to communicate? Are we so involved in our own problems that we just don't really see people anymore?
There is a misconception that if you are talking to someone that you are communicating. This is not necessarily so. There is a difference between talking at someone and actually communicating. Talking at someone and not allowing an exchange of ideas does not promote a harmonious situation or solutions to a situation. For real communication to occur, an exchange of ideas needs to occur for understanding and possible resolutions.
Our society today its all about anything that makes things quick and easy. Unfortunately this does not always work, especially if you are trying to resolve something.
One thing I have noticed is that people tend to put all their attention on the things we don't like in our spouse, friend or co-worker. If this is all you can put your attention on then you are doomed to a separation and ill feelings to that individual.
Here is something that I would suggest you try, no matter how bad your relationship is. We of course all have baggage no matter who you are. There is no such thing as a perfect person. So that said, knowing that we all have something that will annoy people, I suggest that you find something to admire about that individual. Everyone has good or strong points so if you start to focus on that instead of all things bad you may be amazed to find, oh my god, there is good there too. This is what you saw in the first place that drew you to that person. If you do this enough, your feelings will revert to the original way you felt about that person. This is what I mean about building bridges, not walls. It is very easy to build walls but if you learn to find what is good in people, you will build bridges instead. How fine is that!

Tips for Successful Living

1. Constant affirmation without accountability is a sure-fire way to cripple a child. In other words, belief in you without responsibility leads to a sense of entitlement.
2. Raise your hand if you've ever been rejected for anything, anytime, anywhere. We all have. How would you like to have a nice little four-letter word for the next time you're rejected? It's: NEXT. Next sale, next job, next date, next whatever.
3. Beware of people who use their own emotional pain as a tool to manipulate others instead of as a motivation to change themselves.
4. It's a humbling and sobering experience to have a child who wants to be like you.
5. A successful marriage requires selective and strategic ignoring. The right things to ignore are little habits and irritating peculiarities that we all have. The problem comes when you select the wrong things to ignore.
6. I wonder if it's a bad thing to believe that football on TV is one of the first signs of fall approaching.
7. Most folks live with the illusion that worrying about something can actually make a difference. The only possible way that worrying can make a difference is if the worrying motivates you to take action to do something about the subject of your worry.
8.People often say, "Well, I'm just going with the flow." The problem with going with the flow is that many times the flow is lost and does not know where it is going.

Discernment and Judgement

Discernment is an inner guide or compass. It is loving and expansive, and offers freedom, honor and options. Judgment on the other hand dishonors, condemns, and contradicts.
Judgment is all about others. It always sets up a polarity or emotional value of this is good and this is bad. An example of this is: A person looks at a brown car and decides brown cars are boring and ugly.
Being judgmental forms a vicious cycle. The very nature of judgment is to always focus or look at the bad. Moreover, "like attracts like" looking for the bad becomes the black DOT, or primary focus. The alarming reality of this is, not only does one only focus on the bad in others, but also that is all they can see about themselves. To be honest, one first becomes intimate with their own feelings of shame and inferiority. Then as a way to get relief, they target someone else to shame, so they can feel superior (rather than inferior).
Discernment on the other hand is assessing a situation objectively, with no emotional attachment, to decide what ones decision is. In this case: A person looks at the brown car and decides they do not care for the color of the car. Discernment is all about oneself this is not for me. Discernment does not offer excuses, blame others or make empty promises. Discerning individuals do not change the facts to what they think they should say, they conform their actions to the facts.
Discerning individuals accept others just as they are. In addition, they are aware they have choices or options that can assist them so their best interest is served. For example, I accept that my co-worker talks a lot about how "rough" her life is. For me, this is not something I enjoy hearing or taking a part in. In a conversation if I notice she is doing this, I have options on what I can do. I can change the direction of the conversation to a topic that we both enjoy; I can excuse myself from her company, etc. Discernment is all about choosing what kind of experience and life you want for yourself.

Keep Hope Alive - Emily Dickinson

"Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all.." ~ Emily Dickinson
A bittersweet quality permeates the air in September. In the northern hemisphere, we say our reluctant goodbyes to summer. When September rolls around there is something in our early programming that kicks in. We gear up for all of the activities associated with fall. Kids return to school and we all begin to pick up the pace.
We never really do finish school while we are alive on this planet. We continue to learn life lessons and hopefully grow through all of our experiences. Much of our earlier training at home and school prepares us to face life as warriors or worriers. The good news is that we can learn to become more resilient if we are willing to do our "hope" work. That's right. That wasn't a typo. I meant, "hope" work. Too many of us have been basing our lives for far too long, on what is reasonable and evident rather than on faith and belief.

Important Things to Know / Remember About Life

  • I love you not because who you are, but because who I am when I am with you

  • There is no one in this world that worth your tears, and if they are, they will never make you cry.

  • If someone loves you not in the way you would like to, it does not mean that they don not love you in their own way

  • A good friend is the one that will hold your hand and will touch your heart.

  • The worst way to miss someone is to sit right next to him or her, knowing you will never be with him or her.

  • Never stop smiling even when you are sad. Someone might just fall in love with your smile.

  • Do not waste your time with someone who does not care wasting his or her time with you.

  • You might be just "a someone" in this world, but for someone, you are the entire world.

  • You might need to need many "wrong" people before you will meet the "right" one. Like that, you will highly appreciate them will it will happen.

  • Do not cry when it is over? Be glad that it happened.

  • Do not "fight" for things to happen. The best things in life happen when you least expect them.

  • Be a better person and know always where you are coming from and who you are before you meet someone new, and hope that they will know you for who you are.

  • There will always be someone that will heart you, but you need to keep on trusting people? Just with more caution.

Alone But Not Lonely

In today's fast paced society, we have become accustomed to filling the eeriness of silence with fluff. We turn to many distractions as a means of escaping feelings of idleness or boredom. However, the main thing we wish to elude is loneliness. Solitude does not have to alienating or lonesome. In fact, solitude and loneliness are distinctly separate.
The death of a loved one or the inability to find people who understand you can leave you feeling isolated. Webster's dictionary plainly describes loneliness as "being without companions. It's natural to experience emptiness while longing for love or acceptance. Loneliness is therefore an emotive state that can be experienced whether or not one is physically alone.
Geoffrey F. Fisher said, “In cities no one is quiet but many are lonely; in the country, people are quiet but few are lonely we tend to fill loneliness with all types of distractions. For example, some single women would rather spend a Friday night with a man they have no genuine interest in, than spend the night alone. They long for a way of killing time while they await the man they are actually seeking. Then there are young adults who are involved in cliques where they cannot really relate to their companions. However, they would rather feel accepted on a superficial level than risk feeling outcast. So, what is it about being alone that scares us?
Do not be spooked by the unfamiliarity of silence. Silence can be an amazing thing. It teaches you how to truly listen. It teaches you to pay attention to what is going on inside of you. Only when we are alone, can we have the space and peace we need to think without being outwardly influenced. It therefore becomes easier to make important decisions as well as identify whatever feelings are culminating within.
Get in touch with yourself so that you can make conscious decisions rather than simply react to emotions. Appreciate the time you have to yourself. Let the peace and understanding you find had better equip you for the commotion of today's world.

Can Money Buy You Happiness?

Well, doesn't that depend on what is causing you to be unhappy, in the first place?
If you've just lost a loved one, no amount of money will make you happy, only time and your own attitude will eventually lessen the pain and hopefully bring some joy back into yourlife.
However, if a stack of unpaid bills is facing you each day, wouldn't enough money to pay them, not make you happy? If you are someone you love, needs expensive medical care and you can't afford it, would money not be the happy answer?
So, before we adopt some of these truisms about money, we should see how they apply to the reality of the situation. Money is not a "magic bullet", but then in life, what is?But the effectiveness of money, like most of the things we use and have come to rely on in our world, it is all relative.
Being without money does not automatically make someone unhappy, but neither does having money guarantee happiness. Rich people are happy because they don't have to be worried and unhappy about not being able to pay bills, make purchases they want, travel, entertain and so on.
But if they became ill and money could not help, they would be just as unhappy and miserable as the poor person who cannot afford the treatment in the first place.
Money cannot buy anyone more time, but it can give you more freedom to choose how you use your time.
A very happy by-product, choice!
"Freedom of choice", if there was ever a magical phrase, that one is it! Money buys that happiness!
Lack of money or too little money, limits the choices we can make in and about our lives.

What is Meditation?

Negative forces like jealousy, hatred, fear, doubt, worry, despair, guilt, resentment, anger, pride hatred and anxiety surround us. These are the dominating forces of the universe. These negative forces day in and day out constantly attack us. The only medicine to fight this deadly disease is Meditation. Through Meditation, we can get everlasting peace that is what we know the "Divine Peace". To grow in light and to fulfill ourselves in light and purity we need to practice meditation regularly.
What is actual Meditation?
Meditation does not mean just sitting quietly for 15 to 20 minutes. It requires concentration. You have to calm and quieter your mind. It requires conscious effort. You have to free yourself from repetitive and unwanted thoughts that distract your attention. As you learn to calm your mind, you feel a new creation is dawning inside of you. When your mind is vacant and tranquil your whole existence becomes an empty vessel. You will attract infinite peace, joy peace happiness. This is actual meditation.

How many ways are there to Meditate?
1. Silence your mind. Once you do that, you are in a position to please and Fulfill God.
2. The Second way to meditate is to empty your heart. Human heart is full of chaos and turmoil. As you empty your heart, there is a Divine peace and harmony, which will fill your heart.
3. The third thing is through prayer. Prayer is nothing but a communion between Spirit and Form. If you pray from your heart all your fears, doubts, sorrow, resentment and anxiety will be eliminated and joy, peace and tranquility will fill your heart.
